DFA graduate Frederic Colier has done it again! Frederic Colier, writer/director, wrote the script for “Made in China” and will be released in 2013. Black Rabbit Film and Impatient Pictures have joined him for the production. Colier previously directed “Dinosaur Park” and “The Hindenburg Omen”.
Congratulations again to DFA student Chiara Armentano for her thesis film “Another Day” which was selected to be shown at the NEW YORK INTERNATIONAL INDEPENDENT FILM AND VIDEO FESTIVAL 2011 (www.nyfilmvideo.info). The screening for her film will be on November 20, 2011 @ 4:00pm, at the QUAD CINEMA (in the Village). Her film was also selected to be shown at the MINNEAPOLIS UNDERGROUND FILM FESTIVAL as well (December 2-4, 2011). www.anotherday-thefilm.com
Congratulations to DFA students Chiara Armentano and Kell Ramos. Chiara won the Audience Choice Award for her film “Another Day” and Kell won the Director Choice Award for his film “Powerless”. Both were screened at the DFA short film showcase at Anthology Film Archives, September 20, 2011.

Zoi is assistant Director and Choreographer for the feature film “The Duel” which has just been released in the UK.

Multiple DFA Students represented at Queens World Film Festival
Digital Film Academy had 7 short films screening at the 2011 Queens World Film Festival held on March 3, 4 5 & 6. Of those, one was selected for opening night and 2 were nominated for Best of their category. ‘Sillage’ (Anthony Hampton) and ‘My Emily’ (Brandon Sanford) each won an honorable mention. Congratulations to all DFA students who screened and especially Anthony and Brandon!

The 2011 New Media Technologies seminar was held on October 29 through November 1, 2011 and was presented by David Castillo. Attendees learned advanced camera techniques, as well as pros and cons of using certain technologies in digital filmmaking and participated on a professional level production set.
