DFA Student Alberto Duron recently completed work on his 11th short film of the year "Hijo de Tamalera: Naco (Son of Tamalera: Naco) which premiered on the Mexican television station "La Nueva TV" as part of the show "Nocke Libre" Based on a play of the same name, Alberto Directed and Edited this featured short, with the help of his fellow students. Roberto Fuentes acted as Director Of Photography and all of Alberto's classmates took various roles on the crew. Alberto did most of his shooting right here at the DFA, working exclusively with non-professional actors, once again proving that one can make a great film with resources available to him.

Congratulations to DFA Graduate Tomax Aponte, who wrote and directed "L'accordatore" (The Tuner), which won BEST SHORT FILM in the Las Vegas Film Festival. Digital Film Academy Directors, Patrick DiRenna and Elena Primost, co-produced this professional short film production, whose crew included DFA alumni and students.

"L'Accordatore": An old piano shop is the setting for this dark tale about a piano tuner and the effect his work has on an unsuspecting public.

A Big Congratulations to DFA Students in the One Year Digital Filmmaking program, Ana Ribeiro and Shaista Roshan, whose short film "Check Out" won Best Film, Best Cinematography, Best Editing & Audience Choice Award in the The 48 Hour Film Project (Lisboa). Ana and Shaista wrote the screenplay that was produced, directed, and edited by the rest of their team in Portugal! Ana was also one of the Executive Producers.
